In Tameside, there are several elements of good practice around Trauma and PACES.

A new multiagency team (Family Intervention and Therapy Service) jointly commissioned between the local authority and CCG aims to provide workforce training and early intervention for families. The Greater Manchester training offer, funded by The Home Office, has enabled us to drive forward engagement within wider services and level 1, 2, or 3 has been attended by more than 130 members of staff from Tameside across different sectors and services. The training has been appreciated by participants.

In education, Tameside College has implemented Whole College Approach to Trauma with the Association of Colleges, and more recently, our Pupil Referral Unit has undertaken whole school trauma training with Trauma Informed Schools UK, with a view to supporting young people earlier, enabling them to thrive.

We have identified gaps and strengths in our system and are currently identifying a local leader with a view to developing a vision and action plan around Trauma and PACES. A key priority will be how to address key partners and raise awareness across the system.
